4. Tax Calculators

The tax calculators on this Site are designed to provide estimates based on publicly available New Zealand tax rates and rules. Calculator results are for informational purposes only and do not constitute tax advice. We endeavour to keep tax rates current but cannot guarantee accuracy at all times.

You should consult a qualified tax professional or the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) for advice specific to your circumstances.

5. Salary Database

The Salary Database aggregates salary information submitted by users and supplemented by publicly available data and AI-generated estimates. By submitting salary data, you agree that:

• Your submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Individual submissions are anonymised and aggregated — they are never displayed individually
• We may use your submission in aggregated statistics, reports, and research
• You will not submit false or misleading salary information

Salary data shown on the Site represents statistical aggregations and estimates. Actual salaries vary based on experience, qualifications, location, employer, and other factors. The Site does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of salary data.

6. AI Career Advisor

The AI Career Advisor provides career guidance using artificial intelligence. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• Advice is generated by AI and should not be treated as professional career counselling
• Conversations are processed by third-party AI services (Anthropic)
• Conversation history is stored on our servers and associated with your account
• CV/resume uploads are processed for the purpose of providing career advice and are stored securely
• AI-generated advice may contain inaccuracies and should be verified independently

The AI Career Advisor is not a substitute for professional career counselling, financial advice, or legal advice.

7. PDF Reports

PDF reports generated by the Site compile calculator results, salary data, and other information into downloadable documents. Reports are generated on our servers and made available for download. Generated reports are stored temporarily and may be automatically deleted after a period of time.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features are available only to subscribers. Subscriptions are managed through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to:

• Pay the applicable subscription fees as displayed at the time of purchase
• Automatic renewal at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
• Stripe's terms of service for payment processing

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

9. Saved Data and History

Registered users may save calculations, maintain calculation history, and set up salary alerts. This data is stored on our servers and associated with your account. We may impose limits on saved data based on your subscription tier.

We are not responsible for the loss of saved data due to system failures, account deletion, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Site without permission
• Submit false, misleading, or spam content
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
• Interfere with the operation of the Site or other users' access
• Use the Site to harass, defame, or infringe on others' rights
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Salaries.co.nz or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our written permission.

Salary data submitted by users remains factual information and is not subject to copyright claims by submitters.

12. Data Export

Certain subscription tiers allow data export (e.g., CSV downloads). Exported data is provided for your personal or internal business use only. You may not redistribute, resell, or publish exported data without our written permission.

13. Limitation of Liability

The Site and its services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Salaries.co.nz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to loss of income, data, or business opportunities.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
